Content is Still King
When it comes to marketing and marketing technology, the world is constantly advancing in leaps and bounds ahead of what used to be effective and the hot new trend in the marketing world. Just as technology is impacting every other aspect of our lives, it is making a truly noticeable mark on the world of marketing and marketing technology as newer techniques and programs allow marketers to reach more people with more unique and personalized messages than ever before. But does this mean that the older ways are dying off and totally unusable? That, unfortunately, remains to be seen and only time will tell.
A new study by Spear Marketing has shown just which technologies and techniques are the most effective and efficient when it comes to marketing. What they found may surprise some and may also not be a surprise at all to others. It turns out that as far marketing technologies go, content marketing is still the best and most useful way to spread your message across multiple platforms and to as many people as possible. A total of 85% of the responders to the poll said that content marketing was the most important advancement in marketing to this day, far and away blowing other technologies and techniques out of the water.
After content marketing, responders said that SEO (search engine optimization), CRM (customer relationship management), and marketing automation were the most important technologies in the marketing world. However, the poll didn’t only point to good things for the marketing world. When asked about the future of marketing and marketing technologies, every option was seen as going to become less and less important within the next 12-18 months. There was no explanation for this sudden drop in the faith in marketing technologies but there are clearly shifts in the current marketing world that are going to have ramifications across the board. Marketers will soon be forced to adapt and try new things and this means that the world of marketing and marketing technology is going to be far different in the future than it was in the past.
